Devotions & Hymns is a 31-day devotional book with a hymn included for each day. Relevant for both musicians and non-musicians, it includes the hymn lyrics in poetic style and the hymn with music. In the Introduction, Richard writes:

“What you will find within these pages are very personal devotions that sprang from my own very real and imperfect life and experiences. As I wrote, I often thought how others must have shared some of the same disappointments, heartaches, and joys that I did.”
